Callous, Hardened-Hearts in Gaza

Until today, I have refrained from publicly commenting about our country’s role in the Middle East battle between the Israeli government and Hamas which has been raging in Gaza for two years. The airwaves have been saturated by propaganda from all sides, and I did not have a handle on who was actually spreading truth.

Moments ago, I watched a Tucker Carlson interview of a recently-retired, decorated Army green beret colonel who returned from retirement to help distribute humanitarian aid to the civilian population of Gaza, which has been essentially trapped in Northern Gaza. What I heard from this credible patriot, Tony Aguilar, and what I saw from the photos and videos he provided, is horrifying. Worsening the matter is the U.S., by funding the NGO’s (e.g., Gaza Humanitarian Foundation) carrying out reckless measures and endangering the civilian population, standing by silently while the Israeli soldiers (IDF) treat the civilians like animals, on many occasions causing the civilians’ deaths from the methods by which they require the distribution of food – e.g., using military weapons as “crowd control,” by “shooting at the feet of civilians or over their heads” to direct them in and out of the mere 4 distribution centers for all of Gaza. According to the colonel’s interview, the people that were trying to walk to the distribution centers to obtain food (no water was provided) were largely women, children, the disabled, elderly, and starving people. Yet, the attitude evinced by IDF ground troops in the area, watching the Americans distributing food, asked rhetorically, “why are you feeding our enemy?” Apparently, they have labeled the entire population of Gaza as Hamas, thus their enemies – even young children trying to survive in zones in which only IDF and allied soldiers may wield weapons. This evinces a callous disregard for innocent human life. Neither America as a nation nor I as an individual want any participation in this mayhem.

I ask that you watch the interview, conduct your own inquiry from eyewitness accounts, and take steps to replace the NGO’s who are facilitating the horror, and replace them with organizations that will provide true, verifiable, humanitarian aid to the innocent civilians. Until that is done, the U.S. should consider freezing all military aid to the IDF and the Israeli government. No one who calls himself a follower of Christ should stay silent on this issue.

“Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1:32
